How we rank AI consulting firms

Rankings are only as good as their method. This page explains exactly how firms earn their positions on this site, where our information comes from, how often we revisit it, and who pays for the site. Nothing here is hidden in a footer.

Evaluation criteria

Every firm is scored against six criteria. We weight fit and delivery over brand size, which is why the order of our lists differs from raw revenue rankings.

How we gather data

We rely on publicly verifiable sources and firsthand evaluation:

We do not accept payment for placement. No firm can buy a position on any list, and no firm reviewed a ranking before publication.

Where a claim about any firm cannot be independently verified, including claims about Advisor Labs, we state it as the firm's design or positioning rather than as a measured outcome, and we cite sources inline for statistics.

Update cadence

Rankings are reviewed quarterly. AI consulting is moving quickly in 2026: practices merge, pricing models change, and new regulatory guidance (such as the NCUA's December 22, 2025 update to its AI resource page) can change what competence means in a vertical. Each review checks firm profiles for accuracy, reevaluates positions against the criteria, and adds or removes firms as the market warrants. Material corrections are made as soon as we learn of errors; use the contact information on our about page to report one.

Ownership disclosure

This site is operated by Integrated Energy Companies, the parent company of Advisor Labs, an AI consulting firm that appears in these rankings. We disclose that relationship on every page rather than bury it.

Two things follow from that. First, readers should apply appropriate skepticism to Advisor Labs placements, exactly as they would to any ranking with a disclosed interest. Second, we hold competitor profiles to a strict accuracy standard: every firm on this site is profiled honestly, including strengths Advisor Labs does not have, because a ranking that misrepresents Accenture or Huron helps no one and would be discovered immediately. Where a competitor is the better choice for a reader's situation, the text says so plainly.

If you believe any profile is inaccurate, tell us and we will verify and correct it.
